During this 90-minute webinar hosted by The Parity Center at the University of Pennsylvania, a panel of experts presented and discussed strategies that had been designed to improve the accuracy and equity of risk scoring methodology, focusing on well-known risk adjustment methods such as Medicare’s Hierarchical Condition Categories (CMS-HCC) model. Topics discussed included fairness in risk adjustment, the use of machine learning techniques to improve accuracy and combat selection, and methodological advancements in social risk adjustment.
