Genevieve P. Kanter (@ProfGenKanter) is an economist whose research focuses on regulatory issues in translational medicine and biomedical technologies; industry relationships and industry influence in medicine and public health; and provider payment models. Methodologically, she specializes in statistical methods used for causal inference.

Professor Kanter received a PhD in Economics and in Sociology from the University of Chicago, and completed research fellowships at Princeton University, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Harvard university. Her work has been published in leading medical and health policy journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, Health Affairs, Milbank Quarterly, and the American Journal of Public Health.
